Albums Coming Out in Spring 2018
The music industry is constantly changing and evolving. No matter what genre of music gets your feet tapping, artists are always trying to create something unique. We’re excited to see what new singles and albums are coming out this Spring. Look for the following tours to see if your favorite artist is performing near Pine Hill, NJ.
1. Justin Timberlake: Man of the Woods | February 2nd
We all saw Justin dressed in his faux camouflage for the Super Bowl. It was meant to echo the name of his new album. Whether you loved his performance, or if you were distracted by the many different wardrobe choices, it goes without saying that JT is a pop legend. Look forward to hearing several new dance singles to come from his new record! If you want to see him live, he’ll be coming to the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, PA on June 2nd.
2. Dashboard Confessional: Crooked Shadows | February 9th
For the former emo kids out there–get excited. Dashboard Confessional is back together and is putting together another album and a country-wide tour. It’s been 18 years since their first LP was released back in 2000. The closest that they are coming to Pine Hill, NJ is Brooklyn, NY on March 29th.
3. Franz Ferdinand: Always Ascending | February 9th
This Scottish Indie rock band started back in 2002 with their first hit single, “Take Me Out”. In true Indie fashion, Kapranos (Lead singer/guitarist) regretted over publicizing their first album. They’ve created several albums since, but they’ve kept a low profile by performing at smaller venues to keep shows intimate. If you’re looking to dance your face off, then they will be playing at the Fillmore in Philadelphia, PA on April 13th.
4. MGMT: Little Dark Age | February 9th
MGMT is an American rock band that began in 2002 with a group of college friends. They’ve evolved ever since, and now call their music “shape-shifting psychedelic pop”. There has been a noticeable break for a few years in their music. MGMT has been putting together this album since 2015. Little Dark Age is an expression of their surprise and dismay at the current state of affairs in the USA, along with a few personal touches.
5. Moby: Everything Was Beautiful and Nothing Hurt | March 2nd
Moby is one of the most prolific and influential electronica musicians. He elevated the genre in the 1990s, and he’s sold over 20 millions records worldwide. He’s worked with a host of other famous musicians, such as David Bowie, Britney Spears, Daft Punk, Metallica, and more. You can also find his music in a number of film scores.
6.Judas Priest: Firepower | March 9th
Judas Priest is an English heavy metal rock band that started way back in 1969. They’ve sold over 50 million records worldwide. They are credited for inspiring 80’s metal bands look with the leather, spikes, and glam hair. After their 80s metal hair days, they took a hiatus in the 90s and 00s. They have recently made a resurgence, and won the Best Metal Performance in 2010.
7. Jack White: Boarding House Reach | March 23rd
Jack White was the lead singer and guitarist for The White Stripes, and starting going out on his own in 2012. He’s collaborated with several other artists, such as The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather.
There’s a little bit of something for everyone in the music scene this Spring. Mainstream pop, indie rock, electronica, and heavy metal bands are all releasing new material. Create a new Spotify or Pandora station, buy your own copy when it comes out on iTunes, or go the vintage route of going in stores to get a CD or vinyl record on the release date!
